I love you - card

Almost Friday…yipppeeeee!! Hi everyone and welcome to my Blog.  Ok so I decided a while ago that I have to start making more cards and really try to use up more pieces from kits that I have, so I made another card today. I used the Prima Moulin Rouge Collection papers and goodies. Most of everything came in my Swirlydoos March kit.

I started with Moulin Rouge cardstock and used a template that I drew up for the card shape. I added a Prima chipboard sticker in the center of it and a couple of Prima flowers off to one side. I tucked in one of the new Prima metal crystals with a twine bow on it. On the top I added a piece of self adhesive trim from the new Prima Lace and Pearls collection. And to finish it off I added a Prima swirl, a butterfly punched from their packaging and I drew on the faux stitching and added some liquid pearls.

Well that is it for today, can you believe that it is April 1st tomorrow.. do you have any April fools pranks planned? I just got some Dusty Attic in the mail and I am off to pet it and maybe play with some new techniques on finishing it, hehe.  Thank you so much for stopping in for a peek. I hope that you all have a fantastic week, be safe and stay warm. Feel free to leave me some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J

Thank you card

Happy Hump Day!!!!! Finally Wednesday and I got to make a little card after work.  I used the Prima Botanical Collection papers and goodies. I started with white for the card and then added some layers of inked Prima backed with brown cardstock. I used pop ups to adhere to the card. I then added a chipboard sticker from the collection and a flower on top. To finish it off I added some Prima crystals, lace and pearls. I am making a wine basket for a friend and I will put this card in it.
Tip: use pop ups on the layers to give the card dimension.

Well that is it for today, can you believe that it is April in a couple of days!!! Eeeek!!! Thank you so much for stopping in for a peek. I hope that you all have a fantastic week, be safe and stay warm. Feel free to leave me some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J

Beautiful

Sunday blahs!!! Well did all my laundry, its gloomy outside, so what better way to beat the Blahs than to scrap a bit, so I made a layout and a card. I used the Prima Botanical Collection for the layout and card, and I added is lots of various flowers and some Dusty Attic chippys. The photo is my daughter and son in law when they got married. We were all in Vegas and that was a great vacation!

I distressed the main paper and water distressed the one by the photo mat. I used a MS punch to punch around the photo mat and added some inks to the edges. The butterflies are punched from Prima packaging and I added some stickles to the centers and inked the edges. I tucked in a Botanical Chipboard piece and added the little “I do” sticker to it.

I used twine to tie the Prima key to the top section with a small piece of the vine, flowers, and another Botanical chip board piece. The title is a piece of Dusty Attic, first I misted it with a Mocha pearl spray, than I used chalk inks on the bottom half of it and covered it with Glossy Accents.

In this close up you can see the twine with the lock tied on the photo. I used a vine and various Prima flowers on the large cluster, and tucked in a couple more Botanical chip board pieces and a piece of Dusty Attic. I finished it the same way as the title and added some pearls to it.

Below is a close up of the flowers and two side shots of them.

I also used the same collection to make a little card. I added some Prima flowers a Canvas piece and used some liquid pearls in the stamped areas.

Well that is it for my Sunday. I can not believe that it is almost April…that is just unreal! We still have a few inches of snow left here but it is melting fast now..yippee. One week today is when my Feature Artist piece appears on Srapbook New and Review. It includes a new layout and tutorial. I will post the link when I get it.

Thank you so much for stopping in for a peek. I hope that you all have a fantastic week, be safe and stay warm. Feel free to leave me some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping

Simple Pleasures

Yippee it is Saturday, and I got to play with all my new Prima goodies that I bought yesterday J I am going to submit for their design team and this might be one of the submissions. All of my friends at Swirlydoos have persuaded me, so I will give it a shot!  I have used the Botanical Collection for this layout. I distressed all the layers and added lots of goodies. The photo is my daughter in law and grandkids, what a bunch of sweeties they are. I had to do quite a bit of editing on this photo. It was really dark and full of shadows to start with.

In this close up you can see the masking that I did in the back ground, and the distressed layers. I used some Prima packaging under the Say it with Crystals and tucked in a Prima doily in the distressed areas.

In the flower cluster I used lots of different Prima flowers and some chippys from the Botanical Chipboard Journaling Stickers. The leaves are also Prima.

I did some water distressing and inking beside the photo mat and tucked in another doily and chippy.

In this close up you can see all the layers of distressing and masking.

This is a side shot of the flower cluster.

“Missing You” paper

Howdy **Swirlydoos**

Hi everyone and welcome to my Blog. Well this is the first time that I have tried the Prima BAP, but I love to work with sketches so I am going to start to play along. This was a very tough sketch for me as it involved circles!!! Eeeek!!!! Lol….but I love to try new things and this made me push myself and I really love the way it turned out. I used my Swirlydoos Cabaret kit and added a few more Prima goodies. The photos are of my  friends sons…they are just adorable in their cowboy duds J

First I distressed the gorgeous Moulin Rouge papers and did some stitching on them. Then it was on to create the circles. I used one of the new Prima masks and distress inks on the bottom of the layout to form one of the circles. There are lots of Prima flowers and leaves on this layout and one of the new Prima Say it with Crystals. I used a MS punch to make the border under the photos, and a regular punch on the mats.
I tucked a feather in with the large flower cluster and used a MS butterfly punch and Prima packaging for the butterfly. I added some crystals to the center of it. I distressed and inked the Moulin Rouge accessory mats and tucked them in the top and bottom corners. I also tucked in some Moulin Rouge Chipboard Journaling stickers with them.
I used Thickers letters for the title and the circle is punched with a MS corner punch then I added some liquid pearls to it.
This is just a side shot of the flower section so you can see the dimension of the layout.
Well that was fun fun fun and I can’t wait to play along again next month. Thank you so much for stopping in for a peek. I hope that you all have a fantastic week, be safe and stay warm. Feel free to leave me some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J

The Girl Has Got Style **Swirlydoos**

Happy Hump Day!!!! Yippee mid week finally, I am always looking forward to the weekend and some scrapping fun!!! For this layout I used my Swirlydoos Cabaret Kit! It is loaded with gorgeous goodies and lots of Prima. The layout is called “The Girl Has Got Style” and the photo is my grand daughter and her new coat. She was so cute trying it on for me when I gave it to her last month. She is starting out young, 3 years old and loves clothes already, hehe.
The first thing I did for this layout was distress the Moulin Rouge papers. I then used my new Prima masks and some Distress inks and masked lots on the top page. Next I just tacked them together and did some sewing on them. The bottom vine is a large chippy from Dusty Attic. I painted it and did some embossing on it. I used lots of flowers on this layout, both from the kit and my stash. The cute little metal key and lock are new from Prima. I used a Prima package for the butterflies, the mat behind the photo and the little piece tucked in with the flowers.
Here are the flowers on the other side of the layout, you can see some more of the new metal ones tucked in there, and you can really see the masking in the background here.
The title letters are just printed them out, inked and I added some liquid pearls to them. The little chain and gem hanging from the photo are from the new Prima collection as well.
Here are 2 side shots of the flower clusters. You can see there is so much dimension on this layout from these shots.

Well that is it for today. Thank you so much for stopping in for a peek. I have lots of more layouts on the go before my April kits arrive. EEEEK it is almost April. I hope that you all have a fantastic week, be safe and stay warm. Feel free to leave me some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J

Funny Face **Swirlydoos and TCR#50**

Hi everyone and welcome to my Blog. It’s a gorgeous sunny day here…yippee Spring is coming and I hope the snow is gone soon! I have two things to show you today. The first is a layout that I did for a challenge at Swirlydoos and I used The Color Room #50 palette for it. The challenge is: a funny photo of me, so this is me and my son in law. The colors were a huge challenge for me because I tend to use more color in my layouts, but hey, gotta push to create outside of your comfort zone.
I distressed to bottom layer and water distressed to top one, than inked it. Here is a close up of the Prima flowers and the Dusty attic chippy that cut in half and tucked into the side and bottom of the flower cluster. I first misted the DA with glmmer mist then I added some white pearl smooth to it and a couple of pearls.
Here is a close up of the flowers on the top section and the white rub ons that I added to the photo mat.
You can see that I did the right side and bottom with a Prima mask and distress inks.

Next project was a card that I made for Cardabilities. This is my first time that I have used a sketch for a card and it was fun to create and gave me a chance to use up some scraps that I had from my March Scrapthat kit. I did some sewing on the outside edges and distressed them. I used pop ups on the little squares and chalked the edges of them. The little fairy is fussy cut then I tucked her in with the flowers.
Well that is it for today. Thank you so much for stopping in for a peek. I hope that you all have a fantastic week, be safe and stay warm. Feel free to leave me some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! **Altered Frame**

Happy Saturday everyone and welcome to my Blog. Just a quick little project that I did today. I had this really ugly photo frame and I covered it with my March Scrapthat Kit goodies. I did alot of fussy cutting for the flowers and added some Prima flowers to it as well. The photos are of my grandsons first birthday...he is such a little sweetie, and a real ham for the camera too!!!

This is just another angle of the frame standing up. And below is a close up of the fussy cutting.

Well that is it for today. Next project is The Color Room, and that one looks really hard this week, totally not colors I would normally use, but I am going to try them out. Thank you so much for stopping in for a peek. I hope that you all have a fantastic weekend, be safe and stay warm. Feel free to leave me some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J

Smile *Sketchabilities*

Well Spring is on its way. We have some sun and I saw my first Robin today, yippeeee J  I did this layout for my daughters friend, this is her two boys and they are little darlings. I love the vintage look of this photo. I used lots of G45 papers and did lots of distressing and sanding on them. I call this one “Smile”…I know I am crappy with titles, I really need help in that department hehe. I used sketch #43 from Sketchabilities. It is a wonderful sketch and you should hop on over to their blog and play along too! The more I use sketches the more I love working with them.
In this close up you can see the sanding that I did on the base cardstock and all the water distressing and inking on the top layer. I made the little fan flower and added a little G45 clock on it. I fussy cut out the little car and tucked in a couple of flowers and added a swirl.
I did some misting with Smooch and added a few more goodies on this close up. The DA key is first inked then I added Glossy Accents to it.
The DA piece in this corner is first misted with two different colors of glimmer mist then I added Glossy Accents to it. The little cards are from G45 and the brad is from My Minds Eye.
I used a corner punch for the circle, added a piece of black lace fro trim and did more misting.
Well that is it for today. I hope you stop by Sketchabilities and join in on the fun. Thank you so much for stopping in for a peek. I hope that you all have a fantastic week, be safe and stay warm. Feel free to leave me some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J
