IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR THE SCRAP THAT! BLOG HOP GO HERE

Wow this month has just flown by. I have a tonne of company right now and have been trying to keep up on my posting and visiting of my usual sites. I think I have to go back to work to get a vacation from my vacation LOL. Ok onto the layout…today is reveal day for sketch 52 at Sketchabilities and I just adored this sketch. I used some Basic Grey papers from my stash and lots of goodies. I did lots of masking, stamping and distressing on this layout. The photo is my grand daughter looking at my flowers.

In these close ups you can see the masking that I did in the background. I added some stamping on top of the masked fence. I used a Dusty Attic piece behind the photo. I just painted it and then used some distress inks on it. I finished it off with some liquid pearls.

I used a deep edge MS punch on the layer behind the flowers clusters, and I tucked in a Prima doily.

Well that is it for today. Do not forget to stop by Sketchabilities and look at all the gorgeous layouts from the Design Team. They are sure to inspire you..and if you play along you have a chance at being a guest designer next month.  Thanks again for stopping by and I hope that you have a fantastic week.  Feel free to leave me some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J

WELCOME to the Scrap That! Blog Hop and August Kit Reveal!!

Hi everyone! WELCOME to the Scrap That! Blog Hop and August Kit Reveal!! If you have just arrived here from Robin, you are in the correct place! If not, head back to the Scrap That! Blog and join us. Today I will be sharing 3 layouts I created using the Scrap That! August Kit "Somewhere in Time" This is my first reveal on the team and I am so excited!

For my first layout “precious” I used the gorgeous kit sketch by LG. Yes that is BoBunny paper in the background, but I have used some gesso and did some masking on it. The photo is my grand kids.

Here are some close-ups of the gorgeous flowers and gems that came in the kit and the masking that I did. The title piece is from Dusty Attic.

Tip: to make your paper curl and stay in place (as under my title piece) just mist the paper a bit and fold up or crease the paper. You can let it air dry or use a heat tool on it, once dried, the paper stays in place perfectly.

For my “Parker” layout I also used the BoBunny papers from the kit. The brick wall is built from Dusty Attic brick chippys. Scrap That! is now a Dusty Attic distributor so you can pre order or buy directly from the Scrap That! store.

In these close ups you can see the burlap, flowers and goodies that came with the kit. The card stock back ground is from my stash.

I wanted to go a bit more feminine with one layout so I used the IOD papers on my “US” layout. I framed the photo of my daughter and grandson with the DA ornate corners that come in the kit. I first painted them with some peach acrylic paint and then I used some glimmer mist on it, and added some liquid pearls to it.

I used lots of chalk inks on my layers to make them pop and also on the punched out butterflies. The peach flowers I made using a tutorial by fellow DT member, Vicky Alberto. You should check out the tutorial section when you are hopping by the Scrap That! Ning Community.

Just a few more close ups.

Now head over to Tina’s blog for more amazing creations using the Scrap That! "Somewhere in Time” Kit.

Playful Pals **TCR-DA**

Hi everyone and welcome to my blog. Yippee…finally some decent summer weather here! I went camping on the weekend and it was so relaxing and just a great get away. For this layout I used this week’s palette at TCR and the yummy sketch from Dusty Attic. I had a few problems when I started the layout but then it just fell together. I did lots of stamping, in fact under the big white flower is a huge stamping BOOBOO eeeeek, and I was not about to start over again so TIP: when you booboo… EMBELLISH !! LOL. Ok so lots of stamping, distressing, inking and I made my own pink flowers from a tutorial from Vicky Alberto. The photo is my grand daughter and her Pal Quilla.

For the DA hinges I painted them with Distress paints and added some liquid pearls and gems to them. The amazing stick pin is from Angelica’s etsy. YUMMY! Here you can also see the flowers that I made and the butterflies that I just punched out, inked, and added some liquid pearls to.

I used some Tim Holtz acrylic pieces and some Tattered Angels transparent chips in various areas.

Another close up of the DA hinge and the stitching and stamping that I did.

Here is a couple more close-ups of all the layers and goodies that I used.

Getting My Glitz On!!! July

I am getting my Glitz on today again. This layout is a lift done for a challenge. Of course I added in lots of my own details to make it suit my style. This is also for this months challenge at Glitz. You have to use some stamping on the background….well I only have one Glitz stamp so far, so I did masking on the background and stamped the bird cage on cardstock and cut it out and tucked it into the flower cluster. The gorgeous papers are all from Glitz. The photo is my DH and grand daughter out on a walk.

In this close up you can see all the layers of goodies and the cute little big cage stamp that I used. You can also see all the distressing and the masking that I did.

I did some masking in the top corner under the Dusty Attic scroll pieces and added some flowers to it.

Here you can see the punch work and the title pieces. I altered them with glimmer glam and glimmer glaze and added some liquid pearls to the letters. I love my new butterfly punch and used it again on the layout.

Well that is it for today….I have some very special news to tell this week, and I am so excited to share.  Thanks again for stopping by and I hope that you have a fantastic week.  Feel free to leave me some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J
