A Wink & a Smile * TCR *

IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR THE SCRAP THAT! BLOG HOP GO HERE!

Happy Sunday everyone! It is just a gorgeous Fall day here in BC! The leaves have all turned colors now and it is beautiful…as long as you do not look at the mountains because there is snow on them already EWWWW! <<not a big fan of winter here J
Ok so on with my layout for today…this was made for this weeks reveal at The Color Room. I am loving being invited as a RDA there this month. Everyone is so nice and very helpful there…just a really great bunch of talented women. The photo is two of my grand kids this summer. I did lots of masking with a brick mask, distressed all the layers and used lots of stash flowers. The pink and grey flowers I made. The material I used is hand dyed silk. It is a salt technique that I learned years ago.

In this close up you can see the brick masking and then another gate mask over top of it.

I love the little flower cluster in this corner. There is one of my silk flowers. The leaves are chippys from Dusty Attic and I just colored them to match the palette.

The next two close ups are of the large flower cluster.

Ok well that is it for today. If you want tonnes of inspiration come on by TCR, each week there is a new gorgeous palette to play with. Thanks again for stopping by and I hope that you have a fantastic week.  Feel free to leave me some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J

Scrap That! November “Putting on the Glitz” Kit BLOG HOP!

Hi everyone and TGIF! Welcome to the Scrap That! November reveal blog hop!!

If you have just arrived here from Robin’s blog you are in the correct place!  If not, head back to the Scrap That! blog for the blog hop order and links.

Today I’m going to share with you my projects using the Scrap That! Putting on the Glitz” Kit featuring Glitz Vintage Blue.  This kit is so YUMMY and the embellishments go perfectly with the gorgeous Glitz papers. I can not lie..I love these papers so much that I got the paper add on too. So I have lots of projects and so many more to show in the future. I used the kit sketch as a starting point on 4 of my layouts.

ADORE. The photo is my son and grand daughter. I used the MME papers as the top on this layout and did a lot of fussy cutting.

Here are a couple of close ups of the embellishments in the kit and I made the larger flowers from kit papers.

For my next layout, also using the sketch, I used lots of gorgeous Glitz papers and lots of goodies from the embellishment add on kit. The photo is my daughters and DH at Nanoose Bay earlier this month.

Here are some close up of the gorgeous flowers and I added some Dusty Attic sea shells.

TIP: for added texture I tucked in some pieces of gauze (which I stole from my hubbys first aid kit). I also misted the DA pieces on the paper so the shells are masked in the back ground.

FANTASTIC FIRSTS. This photo was taken this month, my grandson on his first pumpkin patch tour. He had so much fun. This is also based on this months sketch and I added lots of extra layers of goodies.

In this close up you can see the bright masking that I did in the background. I fussy cut the birds from the Glitz paper layers and added some gauze for texture.

I made all of the orange flowers on this layout from kit papers and added more Dusty Attic leaves around them. The Prima resin shutters also come in this months embellishment kit.

A DAY TO REMEMBER…my niece this summer getting married..what a beauty she was that day too! I also used the sketch but added in back ground layers.

The title is just a sticker from my stash as well as the velume quote. I added some liquid pearls just for a little soft touch, and punched some butterflies from the Glitz papers.

These 3 close ups are of the flower cluster area. The vine was fussy cut from one of the Glitz papers and then I added some flowers to it.

My cutie patutie grandson..awwwww J This one is called NATURE and I had fun doing lots of brick masking in the background.

I did some fussy cutting and added lots of pop ups for dimension. The leaves are from Dusty Attic and you can find them in the Scrap That! store.

I also made a quick little Halloween Card for a friend. The pumpkin graphic is a printable from  here.

Cayne

Hi everyone! I was super busy yesterday but had to find time to finally make this layout. I had done the stamped image a couple of weeks ago and new I had to use it on a layout. The stamp is from LaBlanche and I used distress inks to color it. I used the sketch from Dusty Attic and I got really dirty and grungy with this one…hehe… The photo is my nephew during a performance.

There is so much DA on this layout. The skeleton clocks, cogs, a hinge, music notes, the scroll above the title and the title. I added in some Bo Bunny brads, gauze, film strips, liquid pearls and some gems.

Then I added lots of gesso and paints and starting to mist with lots of different glimmer mists and smooches.

Here are lots of close ups of my grungy mess J

Ok well that is it for today.  I will be back in a day or so with my Scrap That! Sneak Peek!  Thanks again for stopping by and I hope that you have a fantastic week.  Feel free to leave me some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J
